I started my yoga journey in 2017 as a compliment to my springboard diving training. I quickly found myself coming back to class for yoga's ability to help me let go of my worries and feel happy. I completed my 200 hour teacher training in August 2018 at Fresh Yoga in New Haven, CT with the hope that I would be able to share yoga's powerful gift with those who need it more than I do.
The Fresh Yoga system was created to help people move trauma out of their bodies, and I implement a lot of this philosophy in my teaching. I want to use yoga as a tool for healing, whether it is the body, the heart, or the
mind that needs to be healed.
I am currently developing an after school yoga program for elementary school children in inner city Richmond. Aside from the health benefits of yoga, yoga has been proven to help kids do better in school as well as reduce aggressive behavior. Furthermore, I want to let the children have the opportunity to try something they may not have ever been able to experience before.
